Anders,

You are so gifted. You are naturally intelligent. You thrive off of academics and find it "Fun." You've been writing sentences and spelling since you were three. You've been doing triple digit addition with regrouping in your head since you were four. Now you are 5 and are in kindergarten and you are on second grade math and reading. Your intelligence astounds me.

Last month, you came to me in the morning while I was still in bed with your math workbook in hand and asked if you could "do math with me." You hopped into bed and proceeded to excitedly work on your math pages. God has a funny sense of humor, since I HATE math. haha. After completing a bunch of pages, I told you that you needed to go get ready for school, to which you exclaimed, 'But mom! I'm almost to the practice test!" I tried to contain my laughter and told you that if you hurry, you could have time to complete it before school started. You raced off, exclaiming, "A practice test! Oh this is going to be so much fun!"  Ummmm...who are you, kiddo?!?!

The thing that amazes me is you are so well balanced. A lot of people who are naturally intelligent seem to be social awkward. But not you. You live life the to fullest. You are happy go-lucky. You love your friends and they love you, you are competitive in sports, and you are beyond gifted in the classroom. YOU, my sweet boy, are one well-rounded kid. I think I'll keep you around.
